For creators, for future designers, for everyday ordinary people. For people who wish to do something more for the world. It's designing, for a better cause. To join and interact with people who have common interests and goals. With our designs, we wish to print them on t-shirts, keychains, mugs, etc. All of our proceeds will go to charities such as MakeaWish Foundation, Invisible Children, etc. We want to redefine what art really is. Art is not just 2-D, what you see on a canvas. Instead, it can be 3-D. You can wear art. Art and music is all around us and we want to embrace that fact. Interested? Meetings at Y-8 on Wednesdays. First of all, great thanks to those who attended the meeting today. You guys all participated a lot and that deserves appreciation. And remember that your contribution will reward you with some mysterious little prize! So good job everyone.
During the meeting today, everyone voted for the official name of this organization, hence we will call it "Design for a Better Cause". Other suggestions included "Design for ABC", "Design for Love", "Purpose to Desing" and "Why Design?" and we really thank you for your brain juice.
And since the name is officially settled, everyone should start brainstorming logo design. If you do consider to design a logo, keep in mind that it has to be something catchy.We will talk more about logo designs during the next meeting. Also, if the instructions fail to help you in designing a logo on Photoshop, no worries, Michelle will bring her laptop next meeting and demonstrate to us step by step. Please start contributing designs and the like so we can start on out project as soon as possible, because so far we are under a snail-crawling progress.
Anyway, Congratulations to Jacky Tu, who succeeded in recalling every club member's first AND last name. Jacky will be rewarded with mysterious little prize next meeting. Keep up with the good work!
On another note, meetings are NOT be at Y-5. We are supposed to meet every other Wednesay at Y-8 (Ms. Nicholl's room).
